1997 The "dpa Agenturdienste GmbH", Berlin is absorbed into dpa as a whole

An editorial department is set up in Nicosia, Cyprus and begins producing the dpa international service in Arabic from January 1997

An editorial desk is established in Bangkok to deal with news from Asia

dpa introduces the dpa-MedienServer (MES), a reception system for dpa's Picture Service, dpa-Online, dpa-Graphic and the dpa/RUFA broadcasting services. Test phase of dpa-Online begins in February
