General information about cookies and browser settings

We use cookies and other technologies on our dpa.com website. Cookies are small text files that are stored by your browser when you visit a website. This identifies the browser used and can be recognised by our web server. The legal basis for the use of cookies employed by us is § 15 para. 1 TMG or Art. 6 para. 1 b) DSGVO, insofar as they are necessary for the use of our website and the functions called up by you. In other cases, the use of cookies is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 a) DSGVO).

The cookies used on the website originate either from dpa Deutsche Presse-Agentur GmbH ("dpa") - in which case they are so-called "first party cookies" (hereinafter "1st party") - or from certain third parties whose services dpa uses; in this case they are referred to as "third party cookies" (hereinafter "3rd party").

So-called "session cookies" are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies ("persistent cookies") are automatically deleted after a specified period of time, which may differ depending on the cookie. You can delete the cookies in the security settings of your browser at any time. You can object to the use of cookies through your browser settings in principle or for specific cases.

Further information on this is available from the Federal Office for Information Security at  https://www.bsi-fuer-buerger.de/BSIFB/DE/Empfehlungen/EinrichtungSoftware/EinrichtungBrowser/Sicherheitsmassnahmen/Cookies/cookies_node.html.

Please note that when you delete all cookies in your browser, any opt-out cookies that may have been set will also be deleted, so that you would have to exercise any declared objections again when you visit the website again.

Depending on their function and purpose, cookies can be divided into four categories: Necessary cookies, statistics cookies, comfort cookies and marketing cookies.
