Sustainability at dpa
As a company, dpa assumes responsibility towards society in many areas. This includes not only the provision of independent and fact-based news, but also sustainable corporate behaviour at all levels. In doing so, dpa concentrates on social, ecological and economic fields of action (People, Planet, Prosperity).
dpa's latest sustainability report covers the year 2023. For the first time, data from the entire group of companies was analysed - in the previous year, the report only covered the core company dpa GmbH.
The dpa sustainability strategy is making good progress. In the 2023 reporting year, the CO2 footprint per capita was significantly reduced. In addition, dpa systematically analysed its value chains for the first time and made them transparent.
The main topics in the dpa Sustainability Report are the reduction of the CO2 footprint, the protection of nature and the environment, as well as the areas of New Work, personnel development and diversity. Responsible business behaviour together with resource-conserving supplier management are also included. Green IT, health and wellbeing in the workplace, data protection and cybersecurity are also part of the wider focus.

Sustainability Report 2023
For the Sustainability Report 2023, dpa has collected figures for the entire group of companies for the first time. In the previous year, we reported exclusively on the core company dpa GmbH.
In doing so, dpa was guided by the requirements of the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards). However, these were not yet considered binding.
Sustainability Report 2022
The report was prepared on the basis of the GRI index (Global Reporting Initiative). In addition to facts and figures, the sustainability report offers contributions from employees and managers on various topics.
An essential component is a CO2 analysis. The basis for this is the core company dpa GmbH. Employees at the Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich and Stuttgart locations were surveyed.
As a media company, we have a responsibility to provide reliable information - and at the same time to take a credible and consistent stand for a sustainable future.
