    Sustainability at dpa

As a company, dpa assumes responsibility towards society in many areas. This includes not only the provision of independent and fact-based news, but also sustainable corporate behaviour at all levels. In doing so, dpa concentrates on social, ecological and economic fields of action (People, Planet, Prosperity).

Our current sustainability report covers the year 2025. As in the previous year, data from the entire group of companies was evaluated for this purpose. The dpa is not currently subject to any statutory reporting requirements. We have therefore drawn up our sustainability report in accordance with the VSME standard (Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard).

In the 2025 reporting year, the dpa Group emitted a total of 2,737 tonnes of CO₂ equivalents – a decrease of 9.3 per cent compared with the previous year (2024: 3,017 t CO₂e). This is primarily due to the absence of major sporting events. As a result, a significant proportion of CO₂-intensive air travel has been eliminated.

    Sustainability Report 2023

    About the report

For the Sustainability Report 2023, dpa has collected figures for the entire group of companies for the first time. In the previous year, we reported exclusively on the core company dpa GmbH.

In doing so, dpa was guided by the requirements of the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards). However, these were not yet considered binding.

    About the report

The report was prepared on the basis of the GRI index (Global Reporting Initiative). In addition to facts and figures, the sustainability report offers contributions from employees and managers on various topics.

An essential component is a CO2 analysis. The basis for this is the core company dpa GmbH. Employees at the Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich and Stuttgart locations were surveyed.
