Sustainability at dpa
As a company, dpa assumes responsibility towards society in many areas. This includes not only the provision of independent and fact-based news, but also sustainable corporate behaviour at all levels. In doing so, dpa concentrates on social, ecological and economic fields of action (People, Planet, Prosperity).
Our current sustainability report covers the year 2024. As in the previous year, data from the entire group of companies was evaluated for this purpose. Additional data was collected for the report, thereby deepening and professionalising sustainability reporting overall.
The report shows that our carbon footprint increased in 2024. Overall, the dpa Group emitted 14 per cent more carbon dioxide equivalents than in the previous year. This is due to the high level of travel activity associated with various major sporting events. It is dpa's responsibility to work on reducing its emissions in the long term, regardless of annual fluctuations.
The main topics covered in the report are energy, adaptation to climate change, climate protection, working conditions, equal treatment and equal opportunities, labour rights, corporate culture and policy, and our supplier management.

Sustainability Report 2024
In preparing the results, we followed the EU guidelines CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards).
As in previous years, we calculated our carbon footprint using the international Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG).
Sustainability Report 2023
For the Sustainability Report 2023, dpa has collected figures for the entire group of companies for the first time. In the previous year, we reported exclusively on the core company dpa GmbH.
In doing so, dpa was guided by the requirements of the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards). However, these were not yet considered binding.
Sustainability Report 2022
The report was prepared on the basis of the GRI index (Global Reporting Initiative). In addition to facts and figures, the sustainability report offers contributions from employees and managers on various topics.
An essential component is a CO2 analysis. The basis for this is the core company dpa GmbH. Employees at the Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich and Stuttgart locations were surveyed.
